Mission

We’re on a mission to make better ginger beer do good. Through transparency on ingredients, supply chain and impact, we foster direct relationships with our growers and our communities. Back in 2021 we saw that ginger beer had lost its way. So we created a healthy version to put it back on track, prioritising cold-pressed juices and keeping the environment front of mind.

What is JEDI? Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion.

The Root Co. aims to build a better world. We are a small UK ginger beer start-up, but our supply chain is global. Our suppliers, customers and employees span several communities, and our decisions influence people's opportunities and experiences day-to-day.

We are especially accountable to our farmers and their communities in East Africa, whose livelihoods do, in part, stem from our sourcing of ginger. We recognise the power imbalance between supplier (farmers) and customer (us) in this context.

We aim to treat all of our stakeholders with respect, recognising that some may face barriers, e.g. opportunity, income, disability and language. We incorporate these principles of fairness into every policy and decision we take.
